This tool generates a buffer around features above or below a given vertical distance.

The core ArcGIS buffer tool from the Analysis toolbox generates a buffer based on horizontal distances.b This tool goes one step further and generates the buffer area to incorporate the Elevation.

A 3d Analyst and a Spatial Analyst License is required to execute the tool.

Input parameters:
- a shapefile of points
- an DEM

Input data souces should be file-based rather than geodatabase based.

I have not preset the Geoprocessing environment Variables in this script so rememer to set them in the Environment Settings of ArcCatalog prior to executing the script.

This Model Builder Tool takes a Polyline feature class and produces a set of junction and edge features which can be used as inputs into a geometric network. An Arcview level License to ArcGIS Desktop is all that is required to run.

There is a pdf file included to demonstrate the process of creating the input feature classes and follows the process through to achieving the network flow.

Pass the tool a feature class of points. Give a length and a bearing. This produces a new polyline feature class with _line_ suffix and populates it with the polylines created from the bearing and length from the input features.

The second conversion tool reads bearing and lengthss from a point table.

This conversion scripts gets around the inability to render donut polygons in KML. The current KML Specification in KML does allow for innerBoundaryIs and outerBoundaryIs in the definition but the outerBoundaryIs draws over the top of the innerBoundaryIs.

Annotate Features with Information Points rather than attaching a value to a polygon feature. Alternatively, overlay the multigeometries with the polygon KML Features to highlight the effect.

Test out in ArcExplorer.

Use along with other KML conversion scripts.
